Tai Chi for Beginners
Qigong and Tai Chi: Movement Meditations We will warm up with an ancient form of Qigong (Qi = energy/breath; Gong = work) called the 8 Section Brocade (Baduanjin), a series of 8 easy to remember movements that focus on different areas and meridians of the body to open and release the facia and promote energy flow. We will then begin to learn Yang style 24 Simplified Tai Chi, a standardized form consisting of 24 movements designed to promote health. The benefits of daily practice include enhanced mind-body harmony, coordination of breath and movement, improved flexibility, joint health, internal energy, posture, balance, muscle strength, and emotional well-being, along with reduced stress and anxiety.
